Project Brief
The Onteora Club is a private recreation and arts oriented resort community established in 1887 in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. The Club’s residential neighborhoods of distinctive Cottage architecture have been richly influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement and a celebration of the use of natural materials.
Hudson Design was asked to create a vision for a 52 acre tract of elevated woodlands with panoramic views of the Southwestern Catskill Range. Together with our Landscape Architect, Jeff Anthony and Studio A, our Team consulted on aesthetics, densities, land use strategies and the integration of environmental forces to create a new neighborhood of homes and recreational amenities.
The balance of Onteora Club’s 1900+/- acres supports several enclaves of high quality, single family residences with common access to tennis facilities, a pond with swimming beach and non-motorized boating, a 9 hole golf course with Clubhouse, Field House, Sports House, Theater, hiking and cross country ski trails and a Manager/Maintenance complex.
