Ankony Carriage House Retreat

Project Brief

This unique Second Empire, Victorian Era, structure originally served as a carriage house and stable for the Ankony Farm and Estate on the Hudson River.

The renovation creates a private retreat for small intimate gatherings. The south facing entry is protected by a wrap-around porch and roof deck that offer areas to congregate alongside panoramic views of the Hudson River to the west. The roof deck provides access, for the second floor Reception Hall and Bedrooms, to a commanding view of the grounds and the river beyond. Great care was taken to enhance the existing style with authentic, yet cost effective detailing that will extend the building’s life cycle.
