“Ienia” Kitchen Renovation

Project Brief

The 1902 Georgian mansion known as “ienia”, is home to former Governor George Pataki and his wife, Libby. The previous kitchen was gutted to accommodate more classical millwork, fixtures and hardware in keeping with the home’s stately interiors. A collection of the First Lady’s hand painted European tiles were incorporated in the wall finish. Unique arched tracery of the existing windows were replicated in both a new large picture window overlooking the south lawn and in a new service entrance connecting the main dining room.

"My wife, Libby, is thrilled with her new kitchen and I, too, am very pleased and have great admiration for Jamie's ability to redesign with a look that still brings to mind architectural significance of our home. Hudson Design completed the project in a timely manner, within the estimated budget, and with a minimal amount of disruption to our home."
