Hudson Design is a collaborative and passionate studio, built on a foundation of decades of shared experience. Our team thrives on a love for thoughtful details, creating environments where clients can truly enjoy every carefully made decision.
Founded by James “Jamie” M. Copeland in 1986 on Fifth Avenue, our firm has grown to offer a full suite of services—from architecture and interior design to construction management. As Jamie says, “If you find your passion, and find a way to serve other people with that passion, it’s not work.”
Outreach and Community Involvement
Adopt-a-Highway
We’re more than just a team; we’re a part of the community. Four times a year, you can find us in our bright vests, picking up litter along Route 9D in Garrison. It’s our way of helping to keep our local roads beautiful.
School Field Trips – “A Day in the Life…”
To inspire the next generation of professionals, we welcome local schools for office tours and presentations. Students gain a deeper understanding of the collaborative design process and have the opportunity to ask questions, receive project critiques, and hear personal stories from our team.
Sailing Excursions with Captain Copeland
Jamie is passionate about giving back. In his free time, he invites inner-city students on multi-day sailing excursions. These trips, which have included students from San Miguel Academy of Newburgh and Chicago Hope Academy, teach real-world lessons in trust, teamwork, and responsibility in a new and challenging environment. The Hudson Design team even gets to join in on the fun sometimes!
