Farmhouse Connection

Project Brief

This hand-hewed, circa 1850’s, farmhouse has a well-known presence in Carmel, NY since it sits off of a predominant road. We were charged with creating a breezeway connection to a bonus room / two-car garage addition without compromising the rich character of the existing home. The location of the breezeway was purposeful, to highlight the existing maple tree on the property. This also started to organize their outdoor entertainment area in the rear of the house, which turned into a quiet oasis for the family.

"We had the opportunity to partner with Hudson design on a rather large addition to our home by adding a three car garage, prep kitchen, bathroom , bonus room and breezeway. The team at Hudson Design really took the opportunity to understand the type of people my husband and I are by asking thorough questions on how we live our everyday lifestyle. Even through some challenging moments, Hudson Design and our builder stood beside us . They embodied the meaning of true partnership."
