Garrison Yacht Club Pavillion

The Garrison Yacht Club Pavilion was conceived as a new gathering facility at the club’s existing dock and harbor, situated across the Hudson River from West Point Military Academy. The design provides dining and entertainment spaces with unobstructed views of the river and harbor, while incorporating the existing earth and masonry causeway and the club’s ceremonial flagstaff.

The pavilion’s form draws its vocabulary directly from yacht design — an aft deck anchors the first-floor entry, a bridge occupies the second-floor rear, and the building’s stern orients toward the river. The replacement of the club’s aging piers made the project possible, with the newer, longer structure accommodating both the updated dock and a second floor in the footprint of the original.
